TV ONE Plus 1 to launch with ratings data from day one

Posted on: 06-28-2012 Posted in: Broadcasters' News, News

TVNZ’s newest channel, TV ONE plus 1, launches this Sunday 1st July 2012 at 7am. The new channel is an exact duplicate of TV ONE, broadcast an hour later.

In an unprecedented move, Nielsen and the TBG (Television Broadcasters Group) have confirmed they will allow users to view the effect of TV ONE plus 1 immediately, with ratings available through both Nielsen Arianna and TV Map. TV Map and Arianna will provide the reporting functionality of TV ONE* throughout their range of services. This will be an aggregation of ratings for TV ONE and TV ONE plus 1, an hour later.

TVNZ Head of Sales, Jeremy O’Brien says, “As our TV ONE advertising partners will gain additional exposure of their products and services via TV ONE plus 1, we are pleased they will also have immediate visibility on the aggregate performance of their media schedules.”

TV ONE plus 1 will be broadcast nationally with an Auckland feed; that is, no regional break outs.

The new channel will be available on channel 7 on Freeview, channel 081 in the EPG programme guide on SKY, and it will also be available on the soon-to-be launched Igloo platform.
